Once a quarter MLA East Midlands hosts a meeting of representatives from museums, libraries and archives from across the region to focus on diversity issues including:
• ethnic or cultural diversity,![]()
• faith,
• gender,
• disability,
• sexuality,
• age,
• social class,
• rural or urban exclusion.
As well as providing an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing good practice the Regional Network for Developing Diverse Audiences is a forum where new initiatives from MLA and MLA East Midlands are introduced and discussed.
At each meeting a particular topic for discussion is tabled to enable attendees to share experiences and concerns and to discuss plans for developing their service or making new partnerships.
Members of the regional network have found the meetings beneficial in helping them to make new contacts or to forge partnerships which they have then gone on to develop further outside the meetings.
