Learning research

A number of important pieces of learning research have been commissioned by MLA East Midlands and Renaissance East Midlands to help bring museums, libraries and archives together with schools and children's services departments. The research outcomes provide clear routes to effective delivery of the learning agenda, and the wider aims of Every Child Matters, via partnership working between children's services and museums, libraries and archives.

To make this work as effective and assessable as possible MLA East Midlands has produced an online summary document which groups the findings into four key areas:

  • Consultation with teachers, children and young people
  • Working together with Children’s Services to deliver Every Child Matters
  • Unlocking the potential of e-learning in schools
  • Barriers and drivers to visiting museums, libraries and archives

Each section includes recommendations for action and details of supporting MLA programmes.
