The National Year of Reading consortium, including The Museums Libraries and Archives Council, is urging library services to Take the Reading Challenge and be part of the programme which aims to help children, families and adult learners understand the benefits that reading for pleasure and purpose can bring to change their lives.
Service providers have three months from January to March 2008 to plan their activity before the official start of the year in April which has been branded the month to Read All About It – the first of nine monthly themes.
