Teaching Outside the Classroom

Teaching Outside the Classroom, a new national programme being developed by Creative Partnerships with partners including CapeUK and the Museums Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), will encourage providers of teacher training to offer their students placements in a diverse range of educational settings, including museums, libraries and archives. These placements will complement their existing teaching practices in schools, developing their knowledge and skills about how to work with partners to bring teaching outside the classroom and will complement the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto.

The programme will offer a comprehensive package of support, including bespoke guidance for providers and settings who wish to develop inspiring, creative placements for trainee teachers. ITT providers and settings are being encouraged to join the national network.

Museums, libraries and archives are now being encouraged to register as learning partners.
