MLA has recently developed an on-line tool to help you increase, develop and target your work with schools.
The system, called the National Database of Schools Participation, enables you to record your current contact with schools and build a map of access by schools to cultural services across the region.
You can then analyse the database of schools and target them for future activity, based on a number of different criteria, for example drive time, curriculum key stage, attainment levels and their level of contact with your organisation - it will even help you print the mailing labels.
Passwords have been set up for all regional museums and are also available for library and archive services who would like to use the system. To obtain your unique password please contact Ryan Brown – those contacting Ryan before the end of March 2008 will receive a free data stick.
MLA East Midlands will be providing database training and a familiarisation session. If you would like to be alerted to these sessions as and when they are organised please contact Ryan or look out for updates in the news and events section of this website.
