What the MLA Database of Schools Participation can do for you

At venues across the East Midlands during September 2008

10:00-16:00 (lunch provided)

MLA has recently developed a web based tool to assist you in planning your work with schools. At the end of each of these three identical one-day sessions, every attendee will be given a password which will enable them and their organisation to:

  • record and analyse schools’ use of your services
  • profile the schools that use and don’t use your services
  • create reports based on school visitor figures, e.g. % of primary visits etc

This tool can analyse your school booking details around attainment figures, frequency of visits to your venue, driving distance, socio-economic data, index of deprivation and ethnicity.

For example if you would like to work with schools who haven’t visited you before, who are 30 minutes away, and who have low science scores this tool can tell you. The only thing you need to do is input the data about which schools visit you, and you’ll have access to an up to date strategic marketing tool to help plan your work with schools.

These free practical sessions are suitable for all museums and archives and are intended for learning and education managers, schools managers, those with responsibility for producing visitor figures reports or inputting this data.

The dates and venues of the events are as follows:

3 September – Derby Central Library
(booking deadline Wednesday 27 August)

10 September – University of Lincoln
(booking deadline Wednesday 03 September)

24 September – Nottingham Central Library
(booking deadline Wednesday 17 September)

To book your free place email Ryan Brown.

Please remember to observe the booking deadlines set out above, and to include your full name and organisation, contact details and information about any access or special dietary requirements.

Places are limited so no more than two people from each organisation will be eligible to attend.

Please note, attendees from across the region will be welcome at all three events: your organisation does not need to situated within the county in which the training is being held.
