Dr Tim Hobbs, MLA East Midlands chief executive, presented the Accreditation certificates at the opening of Mixed Belongings and Glimpse on Friday 27 January at Nottingham Castle Museum.  He said:  "This is a really excellent achievement and something to celebrate. Nottingham’s museums are meeting national standards and continuing to produce new, quality displays which engage visitors".

Councillor Unczur commented: "Accreditation Status is a nationally-recognised accolade that demonstrates the City Council’s museum service reaches the highest standards in conservation care and in the way it promotes its collections to increase the understanding of their relevance and importance.  It shows that the Council is putting resources into the service and has the necessary level of expertise available.  I congratulate the museums staff for their efforts in achieving this gold standard."

Accreditation is the national scheme which promotes high standards in all aspects of museum work. The scheme is managed in the East Midlands by MLA East Midlands. For more information visit the Accreditation page.
