EMCat Cataloguing Project

Much of the region's archival resources require basic cataloguing. The advantages offered by the internet and electronic cataloguing systems cannot be exploited fully until the backlog is significantly reduced.

Through the EMCat programme, MLA East Midlands, in partnership with the region's archive services, has identified, quantified and prioritised uncatalogued collections in the six principal archive repositories in the region. With this knowledge they will be able to develop a strategic approach to setting priorities in cataloguing programmes.
