Joined MLA East Midlands as Chair of MLA East Midlands Board February 2005.  Formerly Head of Preservation Services at the Public Record Office (now The National Archives); Vice-President of Society of Archivists; Member of Northamptonshire Archives Panel, MLA Designation Panel and Banbury Historical Society; Trustee of British Postal Museum and Archive, and Marc Fitch Fund; Vice Chair of Lincoln Cathedral Library Council; lecturer on preservation management at University College London (UCL); independent archives consultant.

Joined MLA Executive Board November 2005.  Librarian and Learning Technologist.  Head of Libraries & E-Strategy at Leicester College.  Chair of Libraries and Information East Midlands.  Member of Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) Regional Support Centre Steering Group. 

“I’m Head of Libraries and E-Strategy at Leicester College, which ties in well with my role on the board. At the moment I’m leading a research project on how pocket PCs can support peripatetic work.”

Member of Society for Folk Life Studies and, until recently, Papplewick Pumping Station Trust.

“A retired museum director with over 40 years’ experience, I enjoy the opportunity to influence the regional agenda. I helped establish the Designation project and it’s fantastic to see it develop.

Joined MLA East Midlands Executive Board in 2007. Director of Cultural and Community Services, Derbyshire County Council. Board member of the Reading Agency; Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals; executive committee member of the Society of Chief Librarians.
