Dr Helen Forde

Joined MLA East Midlands as Chair of MLA East Midlands Board February 2005.  Formerly Head of Preservation Services at the Public Record Office (now The National Archives); Vice-President of Society of Archivists; Member of Northamptonshire Archives Panel, MLA Designation Panel and Banbury Historical Society; Trustee of British Postal Museum and Archive, and Marc Fitch Fund; Vice Chair of Lincoln Cathedral Library Council; lecturer on preservation management at University College London (UCL); independent archives consultant.

Joined MLA Executive Board November 2005.  Librarian and Learning Technologist.  Head of Libraries & E-Strategy at Leicester College.  Chair of Libraries and Information East Midlands.  Member of Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) Regional Support Centre Steering Group. 

“I’m Head of Libraries and E-Strategy at Leicester College, which ties in well with my role on the board. At the moment I’m leading a research project on how pocket PCs can support peripatetic work.”

Honorary Secretary of the Council of Libraries and Information East Midlands; Member of the East Midlands Society of Chief Librarians and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

Mr Brian Loughbrough

Joined MLA East Midlands Executive Board September 2003. Museum director (retired). Former Local Government Adviser to the Museums and Galleries Commission; Fellow and former Council Member and Treasurer of Museums Association; EmmS Board Member; EMRAC Council Member. Member of Society for Folk Life Studies and, until recently, Papplewick Pumping Station Trust.

“A retired museum director with over 40 years’ experience, I enjoy the opportunity to influence the regional agenda. I helped establish the Designation project and it’s fantastic to see it develop.

Mr Martin Molloy OBE

Joined MLA East Midlands Executive Board in 2007. Director of Cultural and Community Services, Derbyshire County Council. Board member of the Reading Agency; Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals; executive committee member of the Society of Chief Librarians.

“I joined the board to represent colleagues from Libraries and Information East Midlands. Museums, libraries and archives afford access, stimulate the imagination and provide information about the region’s past, present and future.”

“I was nominated to the board by the East Midlands Regional Archives Council. It’s wonderful to be involved in developing new audiences, enhancing resources and strengthening partnerships to benefit the region.”

Joined MLA East Midlands Executive Board June 2006. Employed by Lincolnshire County Council's Cultural Services since 1996; Fellow of the Museums Association as well as a Mentor, Councillor at Large and Member of the Executive; Vice Chairman of East Midlands Museums Service; Renaissance East Midlands Programme Board member; External Examiner for post-graduate Museum and Heritage Management courses at Nottingham Trent University.

“I became a board member having been a long-serving member of the East Midlands Museum Service board. Our sector inspires people of all ages, and our region has an enormous amount of joined-up thinking.”
